Coturnix Quail are an amazing addition to any homestead. They are large, hardy game birds. The Jumbo Coturnix Quail eggs are around the same size as a pheasant or bantam chicken egg. They are great and reliable layers, though they are seasonal.
They mature quickly and can go from incubator to egg production or table within just a few months.
We started keeping them for relaxation. The Coturnix quail, not unlike the Bobwhite, make a very unique trilling sound and their chatter is quite enjoyable to listen to in the evenings while swinging on the porch.
